If you check out our previous Blog post from November 2012:
Information on Honda Sportbike for 2013 or 2014 that hasn't been released yet... Possible Honda V4 Fireblade CBR1000RR based on the MotoGP RC213V?
A few months ago we all heard down the grapevine where Honda Chief Executive Officer Takanobu Ito announced plans to produce a new super sports bike derived from its RC213V MotoGP race bike.
You will see that I posted the picture below... Showing that Honda has plans to release details to us dealers in February of 2013 on a new sportbike. Now whether or not that new sportbike is the all new 2014 Honda V4 CBR collaboration we are all waiting patiently for, who knows. But if you think about it - what else could it be?
Of course all of this is still speculation BUT the good news is that we will find out tomorrow! Honda released the image below to us stating that we will have the new Redline to watch on the morning of February 8th at 12:01 AM PST. The Redline is where Honda announces to us dealers information regarding new models, news etc.
So if we go off of all of the information provided along with a spec of hope haha, just maybe, we'll see a wild new 2014 Honda V4 CBR style based off of the RC213V. Only time will tell though and keep an eye on our Blog for up to the minute updates.
And then of course we've got the images that have been floating around the internet for a while now. These are all fake but it is fun to look at them while wondering and hoping what Honda will actually do with this bike. As long as Honda doesn't drop the ball on this, I'm going to be in line to put my name on one.
|Japanese Magazine calling it the 2014 RC-V1000|
|Same image used in another Magazine article - Needless to say Honda has everyone salivating.|
For those that didn't want to click on the link above to read the information posted back in November, here a few cliff notes from that previous article on 11/13/2012.
"Has Honda laid all of their cards on the table? Or does Honda have another CBR in the works to be released in February of 2013? Could it possibly be the new Honda V4 CBR / Fireblade that we've all been waiting for?
On September 21, 2012 Honda CEO confirms Honda V4 Sportbike Project is UnderwayHonda Chief Executive Officer Takanobu Ito announced plans to produce a new super sports bike derived from its RC213V MotoGP race bike.
A V4 Honda sportsbike has long been rumored to be in development but it finally appears the project is getting the green light. Speaking about Honda’s plans for the next five years, Ito confirmed the sportbike is on its way, using technology from the company’s successful MotoGP program.
“Since its market introduction in 1987, the RC30 (VFR750R) super sports bike has been loved by a large number of fans,” says Ito. “With a goal to create a new history, passionate Honda engineers have gotten together and have begun development of a new super sports bike to which new technologies from MotoGP machines will be applied.”
With Honda just releasing all of the info on the 2013 Honda CBR600RR and 2013 Honda CBR1000RR along with a CBR500R with 3 other 500's based off of it, Honda is back in the game! It'll be interesting to see what Honda has up their sleeves... Until then all we can do is speculate what will or will not happen but until then I've got my fingers crossed haha."
